I’ll keep this short and sweet.
My mission is to help people live more fulfilling lives. A fulfilling life means you pursue what you care about despite psychological pain. That’s my definition, anyway.
I have psychological pain. We all do. Pain is a barrier to fulfillment if we don’t accept it. We can’t make changes in our lives unless we accept our whole selves, especially the darker, more painful aspects.
How important is self awareness for living a more fulfilling life? One therapist, Robyn Allard, who works with military veterans who suffer from PTSD, said:
“Self awareness is key to creating lasting change. It’s the number one thing I work to create with almost all my clients.”
I’ve been interviewing mental health professionals to understand how I can make the greatest impact using technology. Helping people build emotional intelligence is at the top of the list.
I’m using virtual reality (VR) to help people build emotional self-awareness so they can accept and overcome psychological pain, so they can pursue what they care about.
A small team of us like-minded people are fired up to help people live more fulfilling lives. We are building VR experiences that therapists can use to help their patients cope with psychological pain and understand themselves better.
This is the first step.
I’m starting a conversation with you.
If you or anyone you know shares our passion then please reach out to us at Luciton.com/contact. We are creating new things. It’s fun to hear your ideas and stories.
Love,

Garrett Babcock.
I feel you on all of this. I’d like to know more about what kind of organization you’re trying to form.

Hey Garrett, it’s a software company. We prioritize creating emotive experiences that encourage patients to understand themselves better and to change their behavior if necessary. However our work isn’t limited to VR. Motivating people to change is tricky and VR is expensive so we are working closely with mental health providers and medical professionals to make something that works for everyone. Does that answer your question?
